Flower school ready to open for the first time
Does the prospect of discovering more about the art of flower arranging sound appealing? Have you got a passion for flowers in general? Do you want to give some Christmas presents with a difference this year? If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions then get yourself down to the launch of the inaugural Interflora Flower School. As a bonus to people fanatical over flowers Croydon locals and the people that live in the other neighbouring parts of London can do so with the minimum of ease as it’s practically on their doorstep.
The first-ever Interflora Flower School will take place in the splendid setting of Chandos House in London’s West End.
Visit the Georgian townhouse in November and December and you’ll be given an exclusive insight into what it takes to become an award-winning florist and you’ll also get the chance to meet a few as well and quiz them further on everything and anything flower related.
A series of daytime or evening classes concentrating on floral design have been pencilled in to enable attendees to get the very best hands-on lessons from the people armed with decades and decades of experience in the flower industry. People like David Ragg, who has been in the game some 25 years and has represented the UK at the Interflora World Cup and the Europa Cup.
Who else will be joined Ragg apart from hopefully your good self and a few select friends or family members? Well, Karen Barnes, Sarah Horne and Dennis van Wonderen also form part of the expert teaching panel and the quartet are relishing the challenge of passing on a few handy hints and tips on how to make some stunning Christmas decorations amongst other floral creations.
Barnes and Ragg both hold the distinction of winning gold medals at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with the former also on the Flowers & Plants Association board after spending nearly two decades overseeing her own flower business.
Van Wonderen brings a Dutch perspective on flowers to proceedings and former Royal Horticultural Society Florist of the Year Horne is also highly rated.
If you can’t wait until late November for the Interflora Flower School to open its doors for the first time and fancy having a beautiful bouquet delivered over the coming weeks then stick a relevant stock phrase like ‘flowers Wimbledon ’ or ‘flower delivery Harrow’ into a search engine and the best deals will be just a few clicks away.
